This tour is meant for people who wish to spend more time with locals and want to meet culture and customs of this region. Through contact with locals they get a chance to enjoy in various activities, food preparation and of course to enjoy in natural beauties of this region.



1st day:

Meeting with the guide, transfer to the north of Montenegro (Bijelo Polje). Along the way visit the monastery Moraca and the National Park Biogradska Gora (depending on time). Check-in Bijelo Polje and accommodation. Dinner. We recommend accommodation in 3 * hotels in quiet part of the city or private accommodation in a rural household.


Day 2: Bjelasica

After breakfast, transfer to the mountain lodge Cmiljače, where the hike to Bardov do starts, where people live during the summer, staying on the mountain. Tasting of local cheese and sour milk which is made from sheep's milk. In the afternoon return to Bijelo Polje. Dinner and overnight.


Day 3 Bistrica

After breakfast a short transfer to the Bistrica, where we start walking to the monastery of Sv. Nicholas, dating from the 17th century. On the way a visit to the farm, which produces brandy. Tasting of plum, apple and pear rakija, with the possibility of buying. The path is 6km in one direction. Lunch is organized in nature. We return back in the afternoon hours. Dinner and overnight.


Day 4 Korita -Ladjevac

After breakfast, transfer to Ličine village which belongs to Korita area. Walking starts from the village mosque. The path is circular and in a total length of 12km. On the tour you can visit the local producers of honey (depending on season), the possibility of tasting and buying local honey. Lunch in the household or in nature. Back in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.


Day 5 Sopotnica- Prijepolje- Mileševo

After breakfast we check out from the hotel in Bijelo Polje and travel to Serbia. First stop is Sopotnica, which is known for its waterfalls, and is deservedly classified as protected area of Serbia. In the afternoon visit to the monastery Mileseva, where we plan the overnight. Hiking along the canyon of  Mileševka to the national restaurant where dinner will be organized. Overnight.

Day 6 Zlatibor

After breakfast travel to Zlatibor. After a short break in Zlatibor, travel towards Sirogojno, where an open air museum is situated, the "Old Village''. In the village you can see the traditional architecture of the late 19th and early 20th century. In the afternoon accommodation in the hotel. Dinner and overnight.


Day 7 Mećavnik- Mokra Gora

After breakfast journey towards Mokra Gora - Mecavnik or Drvengrad/Woodentown tour, after which this area is well known. It was built by movie director Emir Kusturica. On the way visit to Mačkat village which is one of the most famous villages of the region. Residents of this village with their hard work,  managed to brand their products and to become one of the rare villages in Serbia that has growth in the population. The famous product of this area is zlatiborska ham/prsuta. We return back in the afternoon hours. Dinner and overnight.


Day 8 Kamena Gora


After breakfast, we leave the hotel and travel to the village of Stone Mountain, located near the border with Montenegro. Its location and natural beauty does not leave indifferent the visitors. Easy walking tour, 2-3 hours. Visit to a rural museum and lunch in a local tavern . In the afternoon journey towards Pljevlja. Accommodation in the hotel. After a break, the tour to a Husein Pasha Mosque and the Holy Trinity Monastery. Dinner and overnight.


Day 9 Kosenica- Djurdjevica Tara- Kolasin

After breakfast visit to the village Kosanica which has recreational ranch ,, Mount Joy '. The ranch is located 29km from the Pljevja and from Djurdjevica Tara only 12km. After the visit to the ranch, it is possible to walk to a viewpoint offering a view of the canyon. The trip continues to Kolasin. Short break on the bridge, the view of the canyon. Check-in Kolasin in the afternoon. Dinner at the national restaurant Savardak where the national dish is served ,, Kacamak ''. Overnight.

Day 10 Kolasin Podgorica

Transfer to the airport after breakfast


The program includes:

Transfers with tourist bus according to the program, 9 overnights according to plan with HB service, services of escort agencies and local guides in all cities, the organization of visits and activities.


Note: Lunch is included and can be arranged as a packed lunch -from the hotel, sandwiches, light lunches in transient households in the mountains, etc. .....


Program does not include: air transportation, personal expenses, and entrance fees for the sites, travel insurance and other services not mentioned in the program.

The katuns are active from mid- May till mid September, when farmers move back to their villages. As in all other katuns, the whole life here is dedicated to caring for cattle and to cheese making.

Winter activities in Montenegro
